Applied Prompt Engineering for Workplace Productivity
About This Course
This course equips mid-level managers and functional specialists in roles involving communication, information work and content creation with systematic prompt engineering skills to optimise artificial intelligence output across their daily tasks. It is designed for people who work with data summaries, internal communications, learning materials, business documentation, marketing content and customer-facing work where artificial intelligence tools are now standard. It requires no prior artificial intelligence experience and serves business analysts and data professionals, administrative and HR staff, communications and marketing specialists, customer service professionals, educators and operations managers across all sectors adopting artificial intelligence for productivity.
Across two days, the programme covers AI fundamentals and when AI adds value to actual work, prompt construction and iterative refinement techniques grounded in real workplace scenarios, evaluation frameworks for AI output quality fit-for-purpose assessment, and independent application of artificial intelligence across communication, visual, audio and digital work. Learners work with realistic tasks drawn from data summarisation, report writing, procedural documentation, marketing copy generation, learning material development and decision-support tool creation. They apply practical standards for responsible AI use and quality assurance.
The course balances foundational knowledge in how AI models respond to prompts with the applied judgement needed to construct effective instructions, refine outputs for accuracy and relevance, evaluate outputs before use, manage brand voice and quality standards, and identify where AI is appropriate and where human judgement must remain.
What You'll Learn
They will evaluate AI-generated outputs against accuracy, relevance, safety and fit-for-purpose criteria before use, and identify the ethical and quality considerations that constrain appropriate AI use.
They will apply artificial intelligence to summarise complex information, create decision-support tools and generate visual and audio content for workplace communication and brand purposes. They will apply prompt engineering methodologies independently across their own work to improve productivity across communication, learning and digital tasks while managing quality and risk.
