The Cybersecurity Career Kickstart+ (CCK+) Defence Course is a hands-on programme designed to prepare learners for entry into the field of cyber defence. With a curriculum built around real-world scenarios and guided by industry experts, the course develops practical skills to detect, defend, and respond to today’s cyber threats.

The programme covers five key areas: Cybersecurity Fundamentals, which introduces core concepts, threats, and defence strategies; Linux Fundamentals and Network Research, which develops essential Linux skills and techniques for analysing network vulnerabilities; Penetration Testing, which explores ethical hacking methods to uncover system weaknesses; Security Operations Center (SOC) Essentials, which focuses on monitoring, detection, and incident response practices; and Windows Forensics, which trains learners to conduct forensic investigations in Windows environments.

What You'll Learn

This course provides practical, industry-relevant training that builds a strong foundation for learners to pursue opportunities in roles such as Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst, Cybersecurity Associate, or Forensics Specialist. At the end of the programme, learners will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to attempt the Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from the SANS Institute. Attaining this globally recognised certification demonstrates competence in detecting, responding to, and managing cybersecurity incidents using real-world tools and techniques.

Entry Requirements

Qualifications in Information and Digital Technologies, and/or Engineering at minimum ITE NITEC/Higher NITEC.
