About This Course

The Operational Resilience Implementer (OR-300) course provides participants with a practical understanding of operational resilience principles, methodologies, and implementation techniques. The course introduces the internationally recognised concepts, terminology, governance structures, and planning methodologies required to establish and support an operational resilience programme within an organisation.

Participants will learn how to identify and prioritise Critical Business Services (CBS), map interconnections and interdependencies across people, processes, technology, facilities, information, and third parties, establish impact tolerances, conduct scenario testing, and implement lessons learned processes for continual improvement. The course also examines operational disruptions and their impact on organisational resilience, enabling participants to develop practical strategies to strengthen resilience capabilities across business units.

Through a combination of e-learning, facilitated discussions, practical exercises, and case studies, participants will gain the knowledge and skills required to support the implementation of an operational resilience programme aligned with organisational objectives, governance requirements, and industry best practices.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be equipped to contribute to the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of operational resilience capabilities within their organisations, supporting the effective management of operational risks and ensuring the continued delivery of critical business services during periods of disruption.

They will demonstrate their competence in documenting, validating, and reviewing critical business services that are essential to maintaining organisational operations during periods of disruption.

• Learners will develop the capability to map operational resilience across the organisation by identifying interconnections and interdependencies among people, processes, technology, facilities, information, and third-party providers. They will demonstrate their ability to analyse value chains, document dependencies, establish communication channels, and assess how disruptions in one area may impact the delivery of critical business services across the organisation.

• Learners will demonstrate their ability to establish and apply impact tolerances for critical business services by identifying different impact types, assessing acceptable levels of disruption, and aligning resilience objectives with organisational risk appetite. They will learn to evaluate the potential consequences of operational disruptions and define measurable thresholds that support resilience decision-making.

• Learners will apply scenario testing techniques to assess the resilience of critical business services under a variety of disruption scenarios. Through practical exercises and case studies, they will demonstrate their ability to design testing scenarios, develop testing libraries, evaluate resilience capabilities against impact tolerances, and identify opportunities for strengthening operational resilience in line with regulatory and industry expectations.

• Learners will demonstrate their ability to promote continuous improvement by analysing lessons learned from operational disruptions, incidents
