Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer and Generative Artificial Intelligence Leadership 6: CAIO Playbook
About This Course
This two-day capstone course consolidates learnings across the Five Plays: Strategy, People & Culture, Technology & Data, Economics & Control, and Governance & Risk. Designed for both pathway participants and modular participants, the track uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) maturity-based case pathways to help participants walk through practical Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) decisions. Using Principled Performance, the AI Factory Roadmap, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Transformation Dashboard, and board-level governance concepts, participants will develop a coherent CAIO Playbook. Through a "Day in the Life of a CAIO" simulation, they will practise executive decision-making and leave with an AI roadmap, operating model, dashboard, governance structure, and leadership narrative.
What You'll Learn
1. Integrate the Five Plays — Strategy, People & Culture, Technology & Data, Economics & Control, and Governance & Risk — into a practical Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) Playbook.
2. Apply Principled Performance, including its four components and twenty elements, to align Artificial Intelligence (AI) objectives, uncertainty, integrity, performance, risk, compliance, and assurance.
3. Design a CAIO operating model that defines roles, responsibilities, decision rights, governance forums, escalation pathways, and collaboration with business, technology, data, risk, legal, compliance, and audit teams.
4. Develop an AI Factory Roadmap that connects strategic priorities, capability building, enterprise AI systems, economic controls, governance requirements, maturity level, and scaling milestones.
5. Create a CAIO dashboard that tracks AI value, adoption, capability maturity, cost, risk, assurance, incidents, and board-level reporting metrics.
6. Apply executive decision-making in a "Day in the Life of a CAIO" simulation involving competing priorities, maturity constraints, resource limitations, governance issues, risk events, and scaling decisions.
7. Present a board-level AI transformation narrative that explains the organisation's AI direction, roadmap, value case, governance approach, risk posture, and next steps.
Entry Requirements
1. Participants should preferably be a degree holder or a diploma holder with at least 3 years of relevant managerial or professional experience.
2. Completion of Courses 1 (Strategic AI Transformation) and 5 (AI Governance, Risk and Assurance) is recommended for foundational continuity before Course 6 (CAIO Playbook), although all is possible to be completed as standalone courses.
