VELOCITY: AI‑Powered Full‑Stack Development
About This Course
This 2-day course introduces participants to AI-assisted full-stack development using modern AI coding assistants and practical software engineering workflows. Rather than treating AI as a shortcut for code generation, the course teaches learners how to use AI as a development partner — planning first, prompting with clear context, goals, constraints and checkpoints, and reviewing every change — while retaining ownership of architecture, logic, quality and maintainability.
Participants work through the full application lifecycle on a single CRM project: planning and scaffolding the application, building modular frontend components behind a swappable data layer, scaffolding validated backend REST APIs, designing a schema and connecting a real database through environment-based configuration, debugging, refactoring and testing AI-generated code, and finally containerizing the stack with Docker Compose and deploying it to a cloud VM. Every module pairs a short concept briefing with a hands-on build step. The course is tool-agnostic and can be delivered using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT or enterprise-approved AI coding assistants.
What You'll Learn
• Design and build modular, reusable frontend UI components behind a swappable data layer using AI assistance. (LO2)
• Scaffold CRUD REST API endpoints with validation and error handling that match a frontend’s expected request/response shapes, using AI assistance. (LO3)
• Design a relational schema for a real-world application and connect a cloud database to the backend using environment-based configuration. (LO4)
• Explain debugging, refactoring and testing practices and describe an AI-assisted workflow to fix, refactor and test code. (LO5)
• Explain containerization, Docker Compose orchestration and cloud VM deployment of a multi-service application. (LO6)
• Containerize a full-stack application with Dockerfiles and a Docker Compose file using AI assistance. (LO7)
