Discover: Identify and Redesign High-Value AI Automation Opportunities
About This Course
In this course, Discover: Identify and Redesign High-Value AI Automation Opportunities, the participants develop the ability to see a workflow clearly, judge whether automation or an AI agent is the right fit for it, and build a commercially credible case for acting on it.
The module is designed for functional professionals - in operations, finance, HR, procurement, customer service and shared services - with no coding experience and no prior exposure to automation tools. Every session opens with a real business scenario before any tool is introduced, and the emphasis throughout is on transferable design thinking rather than the steps of any single platform.
Through structured worksheets and real workplace processes, participants map a current-state workflow, score automation opportunities, screen candidates for agent suitability, and redesign a selected workflow into a future state. By the end of the module, each participant produces a current-state process map, a future-state redesigned workflow, a completed automation opportunity matrix, and a business case - the foundation for the hands-on building work in the next course of the program.
What You'll Learn
• LO2 - Apply business process analysis to map a current-state business process using a swimlane template, and apply sense making to score, prioritise and screen automation opportunities against a structured matrix and an agent-suitability framework.
• LO3 - Apply business process re-engineering to redesign a current-state workflow into a future-state process, evaluating the costs, benefits and impacts of automation and determining the change management activities required.
• LO4 - Apply stakeholder management and decision making to flag data sensitivity, system criticality and autonomy boundaries to IT early, build a credible ROI estimate, and prepare and communicate a one-page automation business case.
