Prompt Engineering: From Basics to Structured Prompt Scripting.
About This Course
This beginner to intermediate course equips learners with practical skills to design clear, structured, and reliable prompts for Generative AI (GenAI) tools in the workplace. Learners will develop competencies in prompt structuring, applying frameworks, and refining outputs to improve accuracy, consistency, and productivity in tasks such as content drafting, data analysis, and report generation. The course addresses common challenges such as inconsistent AI outputs and inefficient trial-and-error prompting. As GenAI adoption grows across industries, this course supports job performance, enhances employability, and prepares learners for job upgrading opportunities involving AI-supported workflows.
What You'll Learn
•Describe the impact of prompt quality on Generative AI (GenAI) output accuracy and reliability in workplace tasks. They will explain how prompt clarity, structure, and context influence outputs used in content drafting, data analysis, and reporting.
• Apply prompt design principles and micro-frameworks (e.g. RTF, ERA) to generate structured AI outputs. They will use these frameworks to produce consistent outputs and reduce errors in routine workplace tasks.
•Construct professional prompt scripts using the C.R.E.A.T.E. framework for common workplace applications. They will develop structured prompts for tasks such as content creation, summarisation, and report generation.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs using verification and refinement techniques. They will assess outputs for accuracy and relevance, and improve quality through structured checks and revisions.
