Gen AI for Designers
About This Course
Generative ArtificiaI Intelligence (AI) for Designers is a 2-day intensive course that walks learners through one real design project from end to end, with the right AI tool placed at the right phase. Instead of teaching tools in isolation, the course builds an integrated workflow across research, ideation, visual production, User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) prototyping, motion concepts, and handoff, mirroring how design teams actually operate in 2026.
Learners work across a curated stack including Adobe Firefly, Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude, Miro AI, LumaLabs, and more. More importantly, learn when to use each, when to over-ride them, and how to defend those choices to a client or stakeholder.
The course is structured around the Double Diamond design process and the Business, Technology, Design lenses, so AI use is grounded in design judgement rather than novelty. Every module pairs hands-on practice with critical evaluation, helping learners build the taste and rubric to assess AI outputs for brand fit, accessibility, originality, and ethical risk.
Responsible AI use is woven through every phase, covering 2026 copyright developments, Adobe Firefly's commercial indemnity, client disclosure norms, and the Singapore Model AI Governance Framework.
Learners complete a mini project, a personal AI workflow map they can apply to future briefs, and a clear sense of where Generative AI strengthens their practice and where human judgement still has to lead.
This course is targetted for graphic, User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), and digital designers, marketing and branding professionals, creative leads and design managers, content creators, freelancers, design-trained career switchers, and motivated beginners. No advanced technical background is required, only an interest in design and a willingness to explore AI-enabled creativity.
What You'll Learn
a) Navigate the Generative AI ecosystem, mapping current tools to the specific phase of the design workflow where each earns its keep.
b) Apply prompting as a design skill, structuring prompts that reliably produce on-brief outputs and iterating them like a brief, not a search query.
c) Apply AI to creative production, including brand assets, illustration, typographic work, and motion concepts.
d) Prototype and communicate ideas faster, generating UI flows, interactive concepts, and design-to-code outputs from prompts and UI frames.
e) Integrate AI across an end-to-end design project, choosing the right tool at each phase rather than defaulting to one tool for everything.
f) Evaluate AI outputs critically, using a structured rubric covering brand fit, accessibility, originality, and ethical risk.
g) Adopt responsible AI practices, including client disclosure, copyright awareness, indemnified workflows, and alignment with the Singapore Model AI Governance Frameworks.
