About This Course

This practical AI governance course helps adult educators test AI apps, identify risks and make fit-for-purpose adoption decisions before using AI tools with learners or in training operations.
Participants will learn how to evaluate AI apps used for quiz generation, automated feedback, learner support, coaching prompts, evidence review and course administration. Using a hands-on AI app test-drive approach, they will apply structured checks on accuracy, output reliability, learner data practices, bias risk, usability, vendor reliability, human review needs and suitability for context.
Through practical activities, participants will design test cases, run normal and challenging checks, record findings, identify red flags and recommend whether an AI app should be adopted, adapted, piloted, restricted or rejected. By the end of the course, they will produce an AI app test-drive report with findings, safeguards, limitations and an adoption recommendation. The course is platform-neutral and requires no coding experience or paid AI subscription.

What You'll Learn

Participants will learn to:
• Differentiate between AI app suitability, risk and evaluation criteria for adult education, workplace learning and training operations contexts.
• Analyse AI app claims, data practices and output behaviours to identify accuracy, privacy, bias, usability, vendor and implementation risks.
• Evaluate an AI app using practical testing criteria and justify an adopt, adapt, pilot, restrict or reject recommendation.
• Design realistic AI app test cases, including normal, challenging, incomplete, sensitive and inappropriate-use scenarios.
• Apply an AI app evaluation checklist to capture findings on data handling, output quality, bias risk, usability, human review and context fit.
• Produce and present an AI app test-drive report with evaluation findings, limitations, safeguards and an implementation or rejection rationale.
