Practice Supervision of Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing and Verification
About This Course
This 2-day course equips aspiring Licensed Electrical Workers (LEWs) and electrical industry practitioners with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely supervise, inspect, test, verify, and maintain low-voltage (LV) electrical installations. Participants will also undergo practical and written assessments to demonstrate their understanding and competency in electrical testing, supervision, and fault diagnosis.
The course covers industry best practices for preventive and predictive maintenance, including common electrical tests, safe testing procedures, pre-energisation inspection requirements, and the interpretation of test results to identify defects, abnormal conditions, and non-compliances. Participants will gain hands-on experience in conducting essential electrical tests, such as earth continuity testing, earthing verification, and inspections of temporary power supply installations, while applying safe work procedures and effective supervision practices.
In addition, the course explores the proper use of electrical test instruments and the analysis of common faults and abnormal conditions in LV switchboards. Through practical exercises and case studies, participants will learn to evaluate test findings, identify potential failure trends, and recommend appropriate preventive and predictive maintenance actions to enhance the safety, reliability, and operational performance of electrical installations.
