Own Your Career Health: From Self-Awareness to Career Conversations
About This Course
This practical one-day course equips participants to be guided through coaching and mentoring approaches to identify and address their career-development needs. Designed for employees across different career stages, it develops the skills to reflect on career goals, seek developmental guidance and engage managers in purposeful career conversations.
Using Career Health SG’s Assess–Chart–Execute (ACE) framework, participants will assess their career health, clarify their Values, Interests, Personality and Skills (VIPS), and identify priority areas for development. They will distinguish how coaching and mentoring can support reflection, skill development, career decision-making and progress towards their goals.
Participants will evaluate career pathways and determine the coaching or mentoring support needed for their chosen direction. They will identify suitable approaches—such as reflective questioning, goal setting, feedback, guidance and experience sharing—and prepare to request appropriate support from their managers.
Participants will formulate career-development goals and prepare for meaningful career conversations with their managers. Through guided reflection, structured activities and simulated conversations, they will practise communicating their aspirations and identifying the support they need. They will create an actionable Career Development Plan with development actions, resources, timelines, a 30-day commitment and review points.
