About This Course
In this course, AI Vision and Multimodal Intelligence: Automated Inspection, Enhanced Quality Detection and Scalable Intelligent Imaging, participants learn to identify, design and evaluate AI-assisted visual inspection workflows for quality and operational use cases.
Through practical inspection scenarios, structured activities and prepared image datasets, participants explore AI Vision, multimodal AI, image data and labelling, defect detection, quality decision-making and human-in-the-loop workflows, using Microsoft Azure AI Vision as the primary hands-on environment.
Participants will analyse inspection images, interpret AI outputs, develop quality decision rules and reporting workflows, and consider scalable deployment and responsible AI requirements. They will produce practical artefacts including a use case canvas, defect taxonomy, data plan, technique-selection matrix, quality decision matrix, inspection report and AI Vision Inspection Solution Plan.
What You'll Learn
• LO1 - Explain the applications of AI Vision and multimodal intelligence in visual inspection and quality workflows, and select appropriate AI Vision techniques for different inspection scenarios.
• LO2 - Design and apply an AI-assisted visual inspection workflow by defining inspection criteria, defect categories, image-data and labelling requirements, and using Azure AI Vision to analyse inspection images.
• LO3 - Evaluate AI Vision and multimodal AI outputs and develop quality decision logic using confidence, severity and escalation criteria, incorporating appropriate human-in-the-loop controls.
• LO4 - Develop an AI Vision inspection solution plan that integrates inspection workflows, multimodal AI, reporting, scalable deployment considerations and responsible AI governance requirements
Entry Requirements
• Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 4
• Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
• Basic digital literacy and comfort working with images, checklists, spreadsheets and business applications.
• Familiarity with quality, inspection, operations, engineering, compliance or process-improvement workflow is beneficial.
• Prior exposure to generative AI is helpful but not mandatory.
