Develop AI Apps and Agents on Azure
About This Course
This course is designed for software developers and AI engineers who build AI-infused applications using Microsoft Foundry. Over four days of instructor-led training and 22 hands-on labs, participants design, build, and deploy generative AI applications and AI agents, connect them to enterprise data and knowledge sources, and extend them with custom tools, multi-agent orchestration, vision, speech, and information-extraction capabilities.
Participants work extensively in Azure AI Foundry, applying Foundry SDKs, function calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools, and the Microsoft Agent Framework SDK to build agentic solutions. Responsible AI practices — including content filtering, safety evaluation, and governance — are applied throughout, reflecting how these solutions must be built and operated in enterprise environments.
By the end of the course, participants will have built and tested a range of generative AI and agentic solutions and will be well-prepared for the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate certification exam.
What You'll Learn
• LO2 – Build generative AI applications using Foundry SDKs, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) apps grounded in custom data.
• LO3 – Apply responsible AI practices — content filters, safety evaluations, and guardrails — across generative AI and agentic solutions.
• LO4 – Design, build, and extend AI agents using the Foundry portal, VS Code, custom functions, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools.
• LO5 – Integrate agents with enterprise knowledge sources and orchestrate multi-agent solutions using the Microsoft Agent Framework SDK.
• LO6 – Implement text analysis and speech-enabled solutions, including speech-capable and Voice Live agents.
• LO7 – Build computer vision and multimodal solutions, including image generation and vision-enabled chat applications.
• LO8 – Extract and structure information from multimodal content using Azure Content Understanding.
Entry Requirements
• Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 4
• Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
• Experience developing applications using Python
• Familiarity with using REST APIs and SDKs
• Basic understanding of AI and generative AI concepts
