CompTIA SecOT+
About This Course
CompTIA SecOT+ is a job-role certification focused exclusively on securing Operational Technology (OT) environments. The course prepares control engineers, OT cybersecurity engineers, and related practitioners to master Instrumentation and Control System Design by analyzing system parameters, network infrastructure, and control characteristics to protect critical operational equipment
Participants will learn to understand the physical impacts of cybersecurity threats through Process Safety Management Framework Development and Implementation, establishing safeguards and procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of operating process plants
The curriculum details how to differentiate OT from IT operational considerations, teaching learners to support Asset Management and Monitoring of Distributed Generation Systems through robust, real-time data monitoring and the integration of advanced cybersecurity protocols
Finally, the course applies governance, risk, and compliance principles to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Maintenance Management and Automation System Maintenance, ensuring automated devices, systems, and field equipment are maintained and monitored securely to meet operational requirements
What You'll Learn
LO1: Apply OT safety and cybersecurity principles to Instrumentation and Control System Design, identifying and recommending appropriate security measures for control systems by interpreting equipment parameters, communication protocols, and network infrastructure.
LO2: Assess OT cybersecurity risks and implement Process Safety Management Framework Development and Implementation guidelines to formulate risk treatment and mitigation measures that safeguard processes and systems.
LO3: Analyze OT cyber threats and threat intelligence using recognized intelligence models, historical OT incidents, threat landscape information, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to recommend appropriate defensive measures.
LO4: Design security controls for OT environments covering physical security, hardware, hosts, networks, identity, and authentication to support secure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Maintenance Management and secure field equipment communication.
LO5: Develop security measures and operating procedures for Automation System Maintenance and the Asset Management and Monitoring of Distributed Generation Systems, covering reliable operational data monitoring, vulnerability management, and portable device security.
LO6: Develop an OT incident response plan using appropriate incident response frameworks, evidence sources, and procedures for containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review to minimize operational and safety impacts.
