WSQ Conversational AI & Chatbot Development (SF) (Synchronous & Asynchronous Elearning)
About This Course
This course includes two elective options for using Generative AI tools to support learning in Conversational AI & Chatbot Development. The two electives are:
Microsoft Copilot
Claude
Learners may choose either one of the electives and attend the corresponding scheduled sessions.
Elective 1 — Microsoft Copilot Studio
Learners are equipped with foundational knowledge of generative AI and practical skills in chatbot development using Microsoft Copilot Studio. Through an introduction to generative AI and prompt engineering, learners will explore how AI systems interpret and generate human-like responses, and construct effective prompts that enhance the relevance and accuracy of conversational outputs. Applied learning with Microsoft Copilot Studio enables students to design, build, and test intelligent chatbots capable of handling real-world interactions. Upon completion, learners will be proficient in developing AI-driven conversational experiences tailored to user needs, applying these skills to organisational workflows and customer service environments.
Elective 2 — Claude
Learners are equipped with foundational knowledge of generative AI and practical skills in building AI-powered solutions using Anthropic's Claude. Through an introduction to generative AI and structured prompt engineering, learners will explore how Claude interprets instructions and generates reliable, context-aware outputs. Applied learning with Claude Co-work and Claude Skills enables students to design, build, and deploy AI agents that automate document creation, data analysis, and business workflows. Upon completion, learners will be proficient in developing Claude-powered workplace solutions tailored to organisational needs, applying responsible AI governance across diverse digital contexts.
What You'll Learn
Instructional Units
1. Generative AI and Prompt Engineering
2. Building AI-Powered Chatbots with Microsoft Copilot Studio
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
Explain the principles of zero-shot, one-shot, and few-shot prompting, and describe how prompt design and key Copilot Studio components (such as topics, intents, triggers, and entities) support prompt-based reasoning and chatbot logic to generate effective AI responses.
Skills
1. Create and refine prompts for conversational use cases using multi-step prompts and role-based instructions to enable clear, logical, and effective AI responses.
2. Configure, test, and publish an AI-powered chatbot with custom flows and dynamic responses, using performance metrics to evaluate and improve its behaviour.
Ability
Apply generative AI concepts and tools to design, build, and optimize intelligent chatbots that deliver purposeful, user-centred conversational experiences
ELECTIVE 2 -Claude
Instructional Units
1. Generative AI and Prompt Engineering with Claude
2. AI Agent Creation Using Claude
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
Define the core components of prompt engineering and output quality control protocols to reduce AI hallucinations, and explain the differences between conversational chatbots and AI agents, including how AI interprets data to track key performance indicators and analyse business variances.
Skills
1. Construct structured multi-shot prompts to generate context-aware business documents and design AI agents to automate workplace tasks, such as drafting standard operating procedures using Claude.
2. Use Claude Co-work to process complex documents, create shared team prompt libraries, and analyse Excel datasets with AI to identify business trends, benchmark performance, and calculate financial variances.
Ability
Apply generative AI concepts and Claude tools to design, build, and optimise intelligent workplace solutions that deliver purposeful
