Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Defense in Practice: Threat Detection, Incident Analysis & Risk Assessment with GenAI (Classroom & Asynchronous e-learning)
About This Course
This hands-on training equips learners with practical Operational Technology (OT) security skills through real-world lab equipment, live traffic captures, and scenario-based exercises. Learners will learn to identify and map OT assets, analyse network protocols, interpret real-world incidents, and conduct structured threat and risk assessments. Generative
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is integrated as a guided thinking tool to help learners evaluate AI-generated insights against operational evidence, strengthening their human-in-the-loop judgement for modern OT security environments.
What You'll Learn
2. Capture and interpret OT network traffic, document communication matrices, and use Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to accelerate protocol-security analysis while verifying its accuracy.
3. Reconstruct incident timelines from operational evidence, distinguishing genuine attack paths from AI-hallucinated or lab-artifact mappings.
4. Conduct a structured Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA) using STRIDE, producing evidence-linked findings and critically evaluating GenAI-drafted outputs for gaps and inaccuracies.
5. Apply a trust but verify mindset toward GenAI tools in OT security workflows.
Entry Requirements
Learners should possess basic Information technology (IT) literacy and be comfortable with the use of computers and common digital applications.
No prior work experience is required.
Learners should have minimum ITE-level certification or equivalent.
No specific technical prerequisites are required prior to enrolment.
Measures for learners who do not meet the entry requirements:
Learners who do not meet the stated entry requirements may be directed to complete suitable asynchronous online learning resources or preparatory courses to strengthen their foundational knowledge and skills before commencing the course.
