About This Course

The Crisis Management Expert Implementer (CM-5000) programme is an advanced professional certification course designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical competencies required to establish, implement, manage, and continuously improve an organisation’s crisis management capability. The course provides a comprehensive framework for managing crises throughout their lifecycle, from risk identification and preparedness to response, recovery, testing, exercising, and programme governance.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of internationally recognised crisis management principles, frameworks, and standards, including ISO 22361 Guidance on Crisis Management and ISO 22320 Emergency Management. The programme covers crisis risk assessment, crisis management strategy development, crisis communication planning, command centre operations, crisis leadership, stakeholder engagement, training and awareness programmes, and advanced crisis simulation exercises. Through a structured planning methodology, learners will develop the capability to identify potential crisis scenarios, establish crisis management teams, design crisis management plans, implement communication strategies, and coordinate organisational responses during disruptive events.

The course also focuses on governance, programme maintenance, testing and exercising methodologies, and regulatory reporting considerations to ensure organisations remain prepared for emerging threats and complex crisis situations. Participants will learn how to develop crisis-related documentation, reporting structures, and compliance artefacts that support organisational resilience and regulatory obligations.

• Learners will showcase their crisis management implementation capabilities by establishing crisis management structures, defining roles and responsibilities, developing crisis communication strategies, and coordinating command centre operations. Through practical exercises, case studies, and scenario-based activities, they will demonstrate their ability to manage pre-crisis, crisis, and post-crisis activities, lead crisis response efforts, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders during emergencies.
• Learners will interpret risk, incident, and crisis-related information from multiple organisational sources to support decision-making and regulatory reporting requirements. They will demonstrate their ability to develop crisis management documentation, communication plans, exercise programmes, and compliance-related reports, translating complex information into actionable recommendations that strengthen organisational resilience and crisis preparedness.
