Introduction

Nan Chiau High School is an autonomous, government-aided Special Assistance Plan (SAP) school with a rich heritage, affiliated with the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan. The school's vision is to be a school of distinction that nurtures students to be bilingual and bicultural leaders of character. Its educational philosophy is guided by its motto of "Sincerity and Perseverance."

As a SAP school, Nan Chiau provides an immersive environment for the learning of both English and Chinese, fostering a deep appreciation for both cultures. Its holistic curriculum is enhanced by an Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in STEM and a Learning for Life Programme (LLP) in the arts. These programmes aim to develop well-rounded individuals who are innovative, culturally aware, and committed to serving the community.

A Brief Historical Background

Founded in 1941 as Nan Chiau Teachers' Training School by Mr Tan Kah Kee, it was converted into Nan Chiau Girls' High School in 1947. The school became co-educational in 1984 and was renamed Nan Chiau High School. In 2001, the school relocated to Sengkang.
