About This Course

The objective of the course is to meet the requirement for qualified technical operating staff in the local chemical and pharma- or biopharmaceutical industries. The curriculum is balanced to provide strong foundation of the chemical and biomolecular engineering principles together with practical training for the operations and troubleshooting of industrial processes.

What You'll Learn

The Diploma in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering offers a broad-based curriculum covering chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, environment science, engineering and life sciences. The course offers a comprehensive integration of IT with physical engineering facilities through the use of professional computer software, including a virtual chemical plant and simulation software. In their third year, students will get to put their learning into practice in a six-month internship. Students can opt for either an Industry Internship with companies such as Chevron Oronite, ExxonMobil, Shell Petrochemicals and GlaxoSmithKline or a Research Internship in a local or an overseas research facility.
