Bachelor of Accountancy
About This Course
The SMU BAcc programme is accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS), the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and AACSB International (AACSB). These professional accountancy accreditations mean our graduates have satisfied the entry requirement for membership in the professional bodies. Upon admission, each professional body has their own qualification and progression rules. Typically, this involves further qualifying examinations and work experience requirements to advance to a full CPA or Chartered Accountant status.
Several of the practice-oriented courses (for example, Audit and Tax) are taught by top accounting professionals from industry. Students receive the best of experiential learning and current industry knowledge. Internships with accounting firms during their peak months ensure that students gain maximum work exposure and benefits. Many are talent-hunted for employment before graduation.
