• Manage and manipulate data with the R programming language
• Collect data from social media (i.e. Twitter) and a web-search volume indicator (i.e. Google Trends)
• Conduct sentiment analysis in order to gain insights, to aid managerial decisions in a competitive environment.

The effort sent on data analytics often find success leading to innovation—which can reshape industries—when the outcome of the data analysis is transformed effectively to visuals. Without convincing internal and external stakeholders with a compelling display of analyzed data, the evidentiary value of information cannot drive changes amongst the stakeholders. This course introduces students to the principles of data visualization, along with lessons on tools during which students can implement the principles learned: R and Tableau. Students will learn how to display data visually to gain insights into theory and practice to aid managerial decisions in a competitive environment.
