About This Course
This module equips participants with the knowledge of digital disruption in tax and a framework to think about and deal with the challenges of digital economy taxation from two dimensions - firstly, an appreciation of the unprecedented changes in cross-border taxation norms in the world and impacting Singapore and secondly, the impact of digitalisation on tax and related finance/accounting department processes and transformation.
What You'll Learn
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Appreciate the latest challenges and upcoming changes in cross-border digital economy taxation;
• Acquire a framework to think about and to deal with such disruptions;
• Understand the disruption to tax, finance and accounting processes, including implications to financial reporting and risks as perceived at the CFO and audit and risk committee level;
• Consolidate their learning through 3 case studies of common issues encountered by (i) Singapore enterprises investing overseas; (ii) subsidiaries of foreign MNEs operating in Singapore; and (iii) an illustration of how new technology such as blockchain can transform the tax and related accounting/finance processes
