                                                    About This Course
This course focuses on enabling participants to understand the importance of proper speech within the early childhood context, identify aspects of speech production and development, mispronounced sounds, common spoken grammar errors, speech errors related to pitch, stress and intonation, and apply strategies in overcoming common errors in speech and techniques in modeling proper spoken grammar to children. This provides a strong base for interactions with infants and toddlers.
What You'll Learn
On completion of the module, learners will be able to:
1.identify speech physiology and motor control in the production of voice;
2.apply the various speech strategies, methods, and application of basic phonemic awareness and phonology strategies for self-development; and
3.apply appropriate methods and strategies for proper pronunciation and spoken grammar within the context of the infant and toddler learning environment through simulated scenarios of interactions.

Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet either criterion a or b and c:
a.	Be ECDA-certified as EY1
b.	Be ECDA-certified as EY2
c.	Currently employed in a childcare (with infant care) registered or licensed with ECDA
