About This Course
On completion of the DECCE-T (Chinese), students should be equipped with:
a firm understanding of child development and the principles of early childhood care and education for children from birth to eight years of age;
skills for observation and documentation of the development, abilities and needs of children, to plan responsive, inclusive and integrated curriculum in the context of diversity;
skills to apply knowledge of early childhood pedagogical approaches and children�s learning styles for designing a creative curriculum, enhanced with the application of technology, for a developmentally, individually, and culturally appropriate learning environment and experiences;
skills and disposition to build relationship, interact and participate with children, facilitate and evaluate children�s learning experiences based on the curriculum framework and desired outcomes of pre-school education;
interpersonal skills to work collaboratively, build relationships and communicate professionally with colleagues, families and other stakeholders to support children�s holistic development; and
skills for critical and reflective thinking and the disposition to embrace professional values and attributes, to become a competent and professional practitioner.

Entry Requirements
For applicants who studied in Singapore:
� 5 GCE �O� level credits including C6 in Chinese Language
� All applicants preferably to have at least 1 year of work experience in addition to qualifications; those without are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
For applicants whose qualifications were not from Singapore:
� Completed 10 years of formal education and passed a state exam with credits in 5 different subjects including Chinese or an acceptable equivalent; (Applicants with academic qualifications from China must provide relevant notarial certificates issued by Public Notary Office when submitting their graduation certificates and transcripts.) OR
� For SPM holders of Malaysia, there must be a pass grade in 5 subjects, including Chinese. If the applicant's Chinese level is lower than B4, he/she must obtain a certificate of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) level 6 and an advanced oral test.
