Crimes of the Digital Economy (Synchronous E-Learning)
About This Course
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Understand the different species of digital crimes
• Understand the breadth of digital crimes covered under the Computer Misuse Act, Penal Code, Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits Act), and Prevention from Harassment Act
• Understand what digital evidence is and why computer forensics are important
• Understand the transnational implications as well as the difficulties of enforcing laws against digital crimes committed outside of Singapore
• Understand and appreciate the process, considerations, and concerns during the investigation and prosecution of digital crimes
• Understand the considerations and potential tools to recover assets that have been moved outside of Singapore’s jurisdiction
What You'll Learn
This module examines the various types of offences committed in the digital space, and offers insight into the steps that have been taken to tackle this increasingly prevalent threat. Participants will also gain a deeper appreciation of the methodology, considerations and tools used to investigate and prosecute these offences, as well as understand the steps that may be taken to recover virtual property that has been removed as a consequence of a criminal offence.
Entry Requirements
Participant should have at least:
• a Bachelor's Degree or
• Diploma with at least 3 years working experience
