About This Course

Singapore recognises the importance of sustainable development and aims to become a hub for the business sustainable development and to be the leading centre for green finance in the region. The Singapore Exchange in 2018 mandated that publicly listed companies are required to submit sustainability reporting (SR) report in their annual reports. There are mainly 4 aspects of reporting, that is, economic, environmental, social and governance. The Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations (CGIO) of NUS Business School is the national assessor for corporate sustainability reporting of publicly listed companies in Singapore. One crucial gap in SR is that companies are unsure how to report materiality issues. There are many courses in the market to address challenges in SR writing, such as the Global Reporting Initiative’s workshop. Such training, however, mainly focus on the technical aspects of report writing. They do not teach companies how to identify materiality issues, particularly, how to report company’s initiatives and measures to mediate the effects of climate change. Such courses also do not train participants on green finance. This executive workshop aims to fill the gap in the training sphere.
