About This Course
This subject provides participants with the knowledge and skills for automation control and system interfaces. Topics covered include automation equipment safety, risk assessment, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and software control structure, integration of sensors and actuators, mode of operations, and error handling. It also covered the configuration of Human Machine Interface (HMI), industrial networks and fieldbus, and installation and commissioning of automated equipment.

Entry Requirements
At least a Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma/Technical Engineer Diploma/Work-Learn Technical Diploma in Engineering.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
