This course aims to provide a basic understanding of how data can be extracted from existing machines for purposes outside of the main manufacturing activities, and will in particular, provide the following:
• An understanding of sensors, how they operate, the types available, and their use cases
• An understanding of industrial wireless technologies
• Knowledge of industrial automation protocols for the extraction of process data from machine PLCs
• An understanding of PLC communication and machine-to-machine messaging protocols
• An understanding of data analytics and its applications

Entry Requirements
The minimum requirement is a diploma from an engineering course
Exceptions may be made for matured workers who do not possess technical qualifications but are working in the manufacturing industry
