About This Course
The WSP aims to provide fresh graduates, as well as in-service staff, from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) a head-start and/or advancement in their careers in the Rapid Transit Transport (RTT) Sector. It is designed to meet both the needs of the public transport sector and the academic curriculum requirements leading to the Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical - Rapid Transit Technology) under the Continuing Education and Training (CET) framework. Upon completion, students will be able to progress in their career through knowledge and skills upgrading, in the areas of rolling stocks and permanent way, to undertake job responsibilities of a senior technical officer or assistant engineer.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must not suffer from serious colour appreciation deficiency.
The participant shall be:
a) A graduate in an engineering or information technology discipline with:
• Higher Nitec (FT) qualifications with GPA > 2.0 or GPA >1.5 with a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience.
• Higher Nitec (PT) qualifications with GPA > 2.0 with a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience.
• Nitec (FT) qualifications with GPA > 3.5 or GPA > 3.0 with a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience.
• Nitec (PT) qualifications with GPA > 3.5 with a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
OR,
b) 3 relevant ‘O’ Levels passes and with a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience.
OR,
c) Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate qualifications or higher and with Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA and have a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
Applicants who do not meet the above MERs but with a minimum of 2 year
