About This Course

This course will equip participants with the necessary theoretical foundation and practical application skills to carry out the work for electrical installation less than 45kVA

What You'll Learn

Practical Design of Small Electrical Installation
• With the use of small installation test boards, demonstrate a typical single line diagram and its various components e.g. DP, 4P, TPN, TP, RCCB etc
• Understand the essential information to be included in single line diagrams for both permanent and temporary supply
• List the essential details to be incorporated in schematic single line diagrams for Electrical Installation and Supply Installation
• Apply concepts to design a 60A three-phase permanent electrical installation, with given parameters for a 2-storey semi-detached house, with lighting layout and power layout plan, and develop a single line diagram, showing the correct arrangement before and after the kWhr meter. Learner is required to size the breakers and cables, and clearly indicate essential information in the single line diagram, considering factors such as design current, prospective short circuit current and voltage drop
• Apply concepts to design a 63A three-phase temporary supply installation (with Genset), in compliance with standards & procedures in designing new supply installation for a construction site. Parameters will be given, and learner is expected to consider breakers/cable size etc to come up with single line diagram based on requirements for CP 88 Part 1

Generator Supply for Small Electrical Installation
• State the frequency of inspection of the SI for various uses (construction site, trade fair etc)
• Set up generator supply to a SI including inspection, testing and commissioning
• List the types of switchboard components to be operated for maximum approved load of 45kVA
