About This Course

This course will equip participants with the necessary theoretical foundation and practical application skills to carry out the work for the electrical installation design.

• Safety requirements in the electrical design for bathrooms, swimming pools, fountains and other outdoor facilities
Electrical System Design
• Standard electrical symbols for electrical installations to CP 83
• Interpret/Draw the single line drawings
• Design of Electrical Distribution System for residential premise (lighting and power layout, overcurrent, short circuit protection, cable and cable management system sizing, voltage drop and short circuit calculation)
• Design and install single phase incoming arrangement for residential premises, including metering boards and consumer units
Temporary Electrical Installation
• Introduction to CP 88 (Parts 1 & 2)
• Setting up a Supply Installation
• Design and inspect temporary electrical installation, including use of Socket Outlet Assembly (SOA) for temporary supply and design installation for trade fair
• Importance of earthing temporary supply and socket outlet assembly
• Industrial plugs and sockets

Entry Requirements

"Applicants are required to have at least:
-5 years of relevant practical work experience; and
-GCE “N” Level with pass in English and Mathematics or Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5
The course is optional for applicants with:
-NITEC in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant practical work experience; or
-At least 10 years of relevant practical work experience "
