About This Course
The module provides trainees with an understanding of basic electrical principles, AC circuits, and basic three phase AC circuits. Trainees will be introduced to the principles of electricity, Ohm’s law and Kirchhoff’s laws, power triangle and power factor, and concepts of a three phase power system.

• Understand the arrangement of a power system
• Differentiate between line and phase voltages, and current
• Perform calculations in single and three phase circuits

Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have at least:
-5 years of relevant practical work experience; and
-GCE “N” Level with pass in English and Mathematics or Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5
The course is optional for applicants with:
-NITEC in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant practical work experience; or
-At least 10 years of relevant practical work experience
