About This Course
Upon the completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
• LO 1: Perform equipment checks for crowd and traffic control activities in accordance with organisational procedures
• LO 2: Perform pre-event preparation at event venue
• LO 3: Perform crowd control management during event
• LO 4: Perform traffic control management during event
What You'll Learn
• Identification of equipment in good working condition required for crowd and traffic control
• Identification of demarcation lines and signages required for crowd and traffic control areas
• Identification of improper crowd behaviour during assigned events
• Application of appropriate actions to handle difficult crowd situation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
• Application of correct hand signals to control traffic at road junctions
• Management of vehicle accidents and incidents in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
• Dispersal of crowd and traffic appropriately in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
This course will address the above performance gaps identified with a focus on empowering participants to take up the role of a security officer that perform crowd and traffic control activities.
Entry Requirements
Learners meeting the following criteria are eligible for the course:
1) Good Interpersonal Skills
2) Learners who have completed the "Incident Response (Handle Security Incidents and Services)" and "Guard and Patrol (Provide Guard and Patrol Services)" courses and attained the Private Industry Security Licence from Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD)
3) Learners with at least a Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) Certificate or equivalent qualification
4) Learners are able to:
• Listen and Speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3
• Read and Write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3
• Manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to the WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3
