About This Course

At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Understand core concepts of predictive analytics and supervised machine learning.
• Internalize a “workflow” of supervised machine learning for numerical outcomes.
• Grasp the Random Forest algorithm.
• Execute functions and sub-packages of tidymodels for supervised machine learning.

What You'll Learn

This is one of two modules where participants will learn how to execute supervised machine learning. As a starting point, they will learn about predictive models with numerical outcome data. The module will equip participants with the fundamental concepts and systemic framework (workflow) of supervised machine learning. They will be introduced to a cutting-edge unified interface to predictive models and machine learning in R language’s data science ecosystem (namely, tidymodels). They will be given actionable programming methods to execute supervised machine learning, applicable and scalable to various scenarios of predictive analytics.
