The module is designed to help students learn the fundamentals of the cost of running facilities and building in a hotel setting. The module includes topics on sustainability and sustainable operations using renewable and green solutions to reduce the negative environmental impacts of hotel operations. It also examines the typical considerations in designing F&B and AV/ telecoms system & project planning and management principles. In addition, it looks into key fire and safety equipment and management of a hotel building, operation of back-end systems and cost benefit analysis to ensure optimal solutions are selected and capital is optimally deployed.
These principles are to be applied to balance all aspects of technical requirement, cost and optimal operation.
Entry Requirements
The applicants should possess a relevant local polytechnic Diploma or Degree in Business or Hospitality from recognized institutions. They should also have at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.
