About This Course
This module prepares you to provide the necessary knowledge about building measurement and the fundamentals and principles of taking-off quantities with standard method of measurement. It provides you an opportunity to gain industry-specific skills and experience in cost estimating involving cost data, cost indices, construction cost in relation to time and present and future values. This course introduces the fundamental concept and knowledge of cost control, budgets and budgetary control, owner’s feasibility studies, project capital finance and expenditure forecasting. It also covers principles and techniques of cost control during inception, scheme design and detail design stages including elemental cost analysis, managing construction cost planning and cost control right from project inception to the disposal phase of a building.

Entry Requirements
The applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident or holder of valid employment pass/ work permit; and possess one of the following qualifications:
a) A diploma (min course duration of 2 years) or equivalent qualification
b) A relevant Advanced Certificate / Higher NITEC / Advanced NBQ with 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
c) A relevant certificate with 4 to 5 years of relevant work experience
d) NITEC / Higher NBQ with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
