About This Course
By the end of the course, participants will be able to write their own macros and process large sets in Excel efficiently.
Participants will be able to:
• Recognise the broad applications and benefits of using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
• Demonstrate basic concepts of VBA programming, such as data types, variables, and subroutines.
• Create dialogue boxes for user inputs into VBA Userform.
• Identify common errors in VBA.
• Apply basic debugging techniques in VBA.
• Construct VBA macros and custom functions using conditional statements, loops, arrays, and/or string functions.
• Construct VBA macros to interact with MS Outlook.
• Create commonly used charts using VBA.
What You'll Learn
You will be guided using easy to follow ‘Use Cases’ during the hands-on exercises, where the trainers will show you step-by-step how to write your own VBA macros.
You will learn how to process large sets in Excel efficiently through the use of common programming techniques such as conditional statements and loops, arrays and string functions.
Basic interactions with Outlook, the creation of commonly used charts using VBA, and some basic debugging techniques to rectify common VBA errors will also be introduced.
Entry Requirements
Participants must have a good working knowledge of Excel, and are expected to be familiar with the general concepts of spreadsheets. Prior programming knowledge is not necessary.
