About This Course
The Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (DevOps) (NSCCD) focuses on Cloud Computing fundamentals and developing capabilities in developing cloud-native applications to meet ever changing business requirement, with operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to undertake new roles that include SysOps Engineer and DevOps Engineer in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industries.
The knowledge and application covered in NSCCD are:
• Cloud Concepts and Core Services:
o Overview of cloud concepts, including security, architecture, pricing, and support.
o Technical skills for building cloud-based projects aligned with industry requirements.
• Enterprise Linux Operating Systems:
o Developing the skills to effectively administer enterprise Linux systems.
o Mastering basic Linux system administration tasks, including hardware management, user administration, file systems, and troubleshooting.
o Understanding SELinux, firewall configuration, and network attachment.
• Intermediate-Level Cloud operations:
o Technical Skills for support and cloud operations.
o Create automatable and repeatable deployments of infrastructure, networks, and applications.
o Design infrastructures and implement various strategies and services for cloud operations.
• Cloud Development:
o Technical expertise in development aspect of a Cloud native solution using Cloud Computing technologies.
o Optimization in performance, security, scalability and cost for green computing.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:
(i) An IT-related diploma or engineering diploma from a polytechnic* in Singapore
(ii) Any diploma or degree from a polytechnic* or university** in Singapore AND relevant work experience (considered on a case-by-case basis).
* NYP, NP, RP, SP, or TP
** NTU, NUS, SIT, SMU, SUSS, or SUTD (candidates with degrees from other universities are considered on a case-by-case basis)
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
