About This Course
The Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (Architecture) focuses on cloud architecture and practical application across emerging technology areas, supporting end-to-end digital transformation. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to undertake new roles that include SysOps Engineer and Solutions Architect in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industries.
The knowledge and application covered in NSCCA are:
• Cloud Concepts and Core Services:
o Overview of cloud concepts, including security, architecture, pricing, and support.
o Technical skills for building cloud-based projects aligned with industry requirements.
• Enterprise Linux Operating Systems:
o Developing the skills to effectively administer enterprise Linux systems.
o Mastering basic Linux system administration tasks, including hardware management, user administration, file systems, and troubleshooting.
o Understanding SELinux, firewall configuration, and network attachment.
• Intermediate-Level Architecting for Cloud Infrastructure:
o Fundamentals of building cloud-based IT infrastructure.
o Optimizing cloud usage by understanding cloud services and their fit within solutions.
o Equipping participants with technical skills for architecting cloud-based solutions.
• Digital Technologies for Industry 4.0:
o Covers networking, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications, cloud computing services, and digital security management.
o Focuses on how these technologies integrate to create complete digital solutions.
o Includes real-world application use cases, including Singapore’s Smart Nation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
Applicants enrolled must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:
(i) An IT-related diploma or engineering diploma from a polytechnic* in Singapore
(ii) Any diploma or degree from a polytechnic* or university** in Singapore AND relevant work experience (considered on a case-by-case basis).
* NYP, NP, RP, SP, or TP
** NTU, NUS, SIT, SMU, SUSS, or SUTD (candidates with degrees from other universities are considered on a case-by-case basis)
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
