About This Course
Understand the fundamental thermodynamic concepts
behind CHP systems
Analyze energy performance characteristics of CHP
systems
Identify and analyze energy savings opportunities and
operate the system in an energy efficient manner
Select and size CHP systems for an industrial set-up with
different heat and power requirements
Conduct feasibility and cost benefit analysis for a CHP
proposal
What You'll Learn
This is an elective module developed for SCEM (Professional
Level) participants.
The module will progressively build up participants’
understanding of the prime movers, gas and steam power
plant, heat recovery systems, and the thermodynamic
principles used in CHPs.
A key aspect of the course will be the methods of
performance evaluation and energy demand analysis, from
which is derived the financial considerations of the CHP
proposal.
This course will provide candidates with the knowledge to
develop, design and prepare sound business CHP proposals in the Singapore industrial sector. This module will also
emphasize to candidates the importance of selecting and
using clean fuels in CHP.
The course is tailored in a condensed manner and includes
numerous practical examples as well as practice questions
extracted from real life industrial implementation of CHP.
