Decoding Signals
About This Course
Understand the key principles behind measurement of wireless and Radio Frequency signals and related instrumentation.
Problem solving strategies through experiential learning of different measurement techniques used in development of various high frequency applications.
Understand the key signal parameters and typical instruments used for measuring high frequency signal.
Proliferation of electronic devices with high-speed digital signals and radio transceivers, enabling the rapid digitalization of services, is fueled primarily by advanced test and measurement systems. Emerging technologies like 5G, Terahertz applications and Millimeter wave Radars pose new testing requirements and instrumentation. Decoding Signals is all about high frequency measurements and instrumentation systems. This intermediate level 2-day course, offered jointly with Rohde & Schwarz, has a mix of both foundational topics and application specific topics with hand-on learning and demonstration activities. Underlying concepts behind measurement of high frequency signals, time and frequency domain instrumentation setups, transmission line effects, network analysis, spectrum analysis and linear and non-linear measurements will be covered. Measurements contextualized to application areas such as testing of wireless transceivers, high-speed digital signals, Over-the-air Chamber measurements and Electromagnetic interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility applications will be covered.
