The course will explore the details behind the operation of a shrimp farm. From cost-effective farming business models, site-selection, to production planning and marketing. The course will enable participants to successfully develop a farming business plan for the start-up of farming operations or technologies to help increase the productivity and effectiveness of farming operations in Singapore and the region

With the population of the world rapidly increasing, there is a greater demand for resources to sustain the human population. Inversely, the amount of available resources such as clean water and available land space decreases exponentially. ‘Intensification in aquaculture’ works to conserve the remaining available land space while achieving higher stocking densities and yields to meet the world’s demand for protein.
