About This Course
The Specialist Diploma in Data Science (Vision & Language Analytics), or NSDVA, aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skillset to analyse unstructured visual-textual data such as video, image, text, and language.
The course focuses on unstructured visual-textual data analysis for various industry applications. It equips data engineers, or participants in equivalent roles, with the knowledge and skills required to transition into new positions as Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer across a broad range of industries. The course includes the knowledge of data science fundamental in statistics and programming, as well as practical Artificial Intelligence (AI) skillsets in Computer Vision (CV) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

• Identify the tasks associated with CV and NLP.
• Pre-process visual and textual data.
• Develop machine learning or deep learning models for CV and NLP tasks.

Entry Requirements
Polytechnic Diploma/ University with Engineering or IT diploma/degree:
Applicants must have an Engineering/ IT diploma or degree from a recognized polytechnic*/ university** in Singapore
Polytechnic Diploma/ University with Maths requirement:
Applicants must have any other diploma or degree from a recognized polytechnic*/ university** in Singapore, and possess a Pass grade in either GCE ‘O’ level Mathematics or a Mathematics subject at diploma level.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
Applicants with relevant work experience in a data-related or analytical role will be considered on case-by-case basis, with consideration of supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
