About This Course
The accelerated pathway has a shorter course duration, targeted at learners with at least 5 years of clinical experience, have attended at least one relevant clinical education workshop/program and supervised at least 4 students as the main clinical supervisors. Learners will learn to:
• Explain key elements of clinical teaching and supervision, clinical learning environments and clinical evaluation models.
• Set clear learning expectations and goals to learners based on curriculum requirements/ supervisory frameworks.
• Apply differentiated clinical teaching and supervision methods based on learner's learning needs.
• Assess and document competencies of learners and develop performance improvement plans to facilitate progression.
• Use of evidence-based educational practice within the learning environments.
• Adopt effective communication techniques to improve clinical learning of learners.
• Evaluate personal effectiveness and develop development plans to improve clinical supervision practice."
What You'll Learn
This 2-month competency-based education programme is designed based on the “clinical teaching and supervision” and “reflective practice” competencies in the Skills map for senior AHPs under the Skills Framework for Healthcare. Learning activities will comprise e-learning, workshops, peer feedback, group coaching, and workplace application and reflection. Advanced competency will be established through multiple modes of assessment such as quizzes, short answer questions, OSTE (Objective Structured Teaching Exercise), workplace assessment, and video presentation.
The programme will be delivered by SIT faculty, together with experienced workplace clinical supervisors and educators.
