About This Course
This course introduces learners to self-leadership as a teacher and extends that to leading colleagues and aligning to Centre’s mission, vision, and core values. Learners will examine common practices of leaders in the local settings and how they are categorised into the leadership theories in Early Childhood settings. Practical and essential skills such as communication, building trust and relationships, teaming strategies, and handling challenging situations will be covered.
What You'll Learn
Learners will be able to:
1. Examine Centre’s mission, vision, and core values in relation to self.
2. Guide colleagues to understand complementary roles of all staff members in the Centre’s operations;
3. Explore leadership practices in local context and identify them in relation to ECE leadership theories;
4. Demonstrate strategies for building relationships.
5. Demonstrate the use of effective communication with others and handling challenging situation
6. Develop team leadership skills to work with a diverse group of staff members.

Entry Requirements
1) Be ECDA-certified as EY2/L1/L2 teacher
2) Currently employed in a childcare registered or licensed with ECDA
