What You'll Learn
In this course, participants will undertake a comprehensive review of the theory and practice of Singapore land law. An important aspect of this course is the study of the conceptual and practical operation of the Torrens registration system under the Land Titles Act 1993. This course will not only cover the legal cases pertaining to contemporary issues in Singapore land law but will also discuss selected legal issues in relation to the Housing and Development Act 1959 and the Land Titles Strata Act 1967. This course is particularly useful for participants seeking to understand the ins and outs of the statutory framework surrounding land ownership and tenancy in Singapore, with special emphasis placed on the sale of land, co-ownership, leases and licenses, mortgages, caveats, strata titles, and HDB flats (public housing).
