Engagement in the Preschool Classroom (Synchronous and Asynchronous e-Learning)
About This Course
This course comprises learning resources for preschool educators, developed based on the findings of the Singapore Kindergarten Impact Project (SKIP). Commissioned by NIEC, the Learning Resources was developed by NIE (CRCD) to provide learners with deeper knowledge of how to engage children through quality interactions. Learners will complete mini-lecture videos through self-directed online asynchronous and facilitated synchronous learning; view classroom videos and access research notes; participate in online discussions and reflective activities. On completion of the four modules, learners will gain insights into what quality interactions look like, its benefits, and gain an overview of the three components of engagement in preschool classroom i.e. quality concept development, feedback and language modelling.
