What You'll Learn
One way to build business resilience and competitive advantage for the organization is to improve the overall wellness of your employees. Research showed that health, work behaviour and the value of human capital are intricately linked. Employee health status directly influences their work behaviour, work attendance and on-the-job performance; thus, developing healthier employees will result in a more productive workforce.
The recent COVID pandemic has changed almost everything we know about our existing working environment. This included the rise of virtual tools that support collaboration and communication enabling 24/7 accessibility. With this accessibility, while businesses enjoy more flexibility and the ability to work from anywhere, employees may also suffer an “always on” culture with litter opportunity to power down. As such, employees have a high chance of facing a “burnt out” situation when this situation prolongs arising from work and personal challenges.
