About This Course
By the end of the course, you will be able to operate a Powered-Lift Unmanned Aircraft (UA) of up to 7kg competently. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding in the following areas:
1. Theory of Powered Lift Systems:
• Define what is a Powered-Lift(PL)
• Explain the benefits of a PL.
• Describe the different types of PL .
• Identify the various PL system architectures.
• Describe the principles of flight of PL systems.
• Weigh the benefits and cost of different PL configurations.
2. Operating a Powered-Lift UA system
• Pre-flight and post-flight checks of the UA, with reference to the Original Equipment Manufacturer documents and training manuals
• Take-Off, Precision Hovering and Precision Landing
• Transition From Hover To Forward Flight
• Transition From Forward Flight To Hover
• Straight And Level Circuit In Forward Flight
• Figure Of ‘8’ In Forward Flight
• Stall Recovery
• Low Pass / Go-Around
• Mission Planning and Execution
What You'll Learn
This 4 day course will provide basic and advance flight operations for the following types of powered lift systems:
1) Powered Lift system less than 7kg Take-Off Weight (TOW)
A practical assessment will be conducted by CAAS Authorised Flight Examiners (AFE) on the last day of this course. With their CAAS UAPL theory test results, applicants will be able to apply for their respective Class A – Powered Lift UAPL (Limited to 7kg) with CAAS upon successful completion of the practical assessment.

16yrs old and above.
