What You'll Learn
It is important to be able to identify and analyse potential hazards in order to effectively manage, control and mitigate the risks of processing, storing and transporting hazardous materials.
In this 2-day workshop on Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), you will learn to apply hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and what-if/checklist techniques when you conduct process hazard analyses at major hazard installations (MHIs).
The workshop utilises interactive, real-world case studies to help you gain insight on best practices in implementing a HAZOP study. You are encouraged to bring your own case studies to discuss with the trainers and participants during the workshop's PHA exercises. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Identify potential hazards that may occur beyond the safe design operating envelope
- Assess the impact of hazards on the facility and surrounding areas
- Identify safeguards required to prevent the initiating cause from occurring, in order to prevent/mitigate the consequences
- Plan, prepare and facilitate a HAZOP study

Entry Requirements
Minimum engineering degree or diploma with 2 years of working experience
